Uh, actually, corporations SPEND money on marketing. It's up to US to buy the product, so they make their money back plus more. We watch Lost for free. What's the catch? The ads. We're watching a show, an ad comes on for toothpaste. Some people that watch that show then buy the toothpaste. Profit. What could Lost be advertising other than itself? And what could possibly be in it for JJ Abrams? It would have to be something close to subliminal for ME not to notice it.

What are we Americans but a bunch of silly sheep that work our tails off to make money so we can buy stuff we don't need? It's just like feudal Europe, except we are less aware of it, and we are "happier", whether truly or imagined I couldn't say. I guess that would be a prime example of something truly "subjective".

It's like the Matrix. Yeah, you are living in a "lie", and in reality have entities feeding off of your existence. Yeah, you can find out the truth, and open your eyes to "reality". But why should you? Maybe the simulated reality you've become accustomed to is actually better than the truth. What is there to lose?

Perception, perception.

I think JJ Abrams is brilliant. What better way to make money than to get the American public hooked on yet another marketing scheme?
